This 3-day workshop was organised as part of the APPGM-SDG's approach to the localisation of the SDGs at the constituencies it works in
In 2022, 27 new parliamentary constituencies participated in the work of the APPGM-SDG in localising the SDGs. As work was carried out on the ground, the APPGM-SDG researchers have analysed the observations and lessons gained in order to inform national policymaking and more. These have been distilled into several situational analysis reports.
The APPGM-SDG then invited expert reviewers to constructively review these situational analysis reports across this 3-day workshop. These reviewers included subject matter experts, academicians and resource persons within the APPGM-SDG network. Their role is to provide constructive feedback and help to strengthen the analyses in the reports.
The pro-tem chairman of APPGM-SDG, YB Puan Munirah Majilis provided the opening remarks for the workshop. Prof. Datuk Dr. Denison Jayasooria gave the welcoming remarks.
Jia Yaw was the reviewer of the situational analysis report by Prof. Dato' Mokhtar Saidin (Universiti Sains Malaysia) for Merbok, Kedah Darul Aman.
